Vacancies on the CAC

The Open Space Authority is seeking persons interested in serving on its Citizen's Advisory Committee. Vacant positions include representatives for:

District 2
District 6
District 7

People interested in being considered for the CAC should submit a completed APPLICATION, include a cover letter describing your qualifications for the position of interest and why you are interested in serving on the CAC, and any additional information about your experience to the Authority's administration office at 6980 Santa Teresa Blvd. Suite 100, San Jose, CA 95119. To be eligible for consideration, prospective committee members must reside within the boundaries of the Authority and, if seeking a District Representative position, must reside in the District of representation. All positions should possess a general knowledge of and involvement in activities related to the position. District Representatives should have experience participating with community groups and organizations within the District of representation.

The CAC's purpose, as established by the Board of Directors, is to provide public input to the Authority, maintain a channel of communication to the Board, aid in fostering a positive public image of the Authority, and help to educate the public about the Authority's goals and accomplishments.

CAC members are appointed by the Board to serve two-year terms. There are seven district representatives and nine interest group representatives. District representatives serve areas that coincide with the seven governing board districts. The nine interest groups are agriculture, business, civic organizations, development community, education, environmental/open space, labor, parks, and trails.
