Volunteer of the Month

Albert Fong

Trail Patrol

Albert really enjoys hiking at Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve. It is far away from traffic, has beautiful scenery, and is quite except for the wildlife and sometime cows. The preserve has both a moderate and a difficult hiking trail, that is accessible to both hikers and bikers.  He also enjoys Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve, because he can bike to it from home.  During his spare time, Albert likes to travel, camp at Yosemite, hike, and mountain bike. Since he has retired, Albert likes to volunteer at special events and attend festivals.

Volunteer Opportunities

As a volunteer for the Open Space Authority, you will help preserve and protect valuable natural resources for yourself and future generations. At the same time, you’ll get a chance to learn about the environment, meet interesting people, work hard, and have fun. Learn more about volunteer roles.

Enjoy and Protect

Trail Patrol team members are agency ambassadors and information resources for visitors, and commit to patrolling the Authority’s open space preserves a minimum of once a month, on foot, bicycle or horseback.
