Elections
Candidates must be a resident and qualified elector of the district, as well as 18 years of age. Candidates must also obtain, and file all required nomination forms with the Clerk of the Board located at 33 Las Colinas Lane, San José, CA 95112.

Monday, July 13, 2026 – Nomination Period Opens
- First day candidates may pick up nomination documents.
Friday, July 31, 2026 – F.P.PC. Semi-Annual Statement Due
- Deadline for semi-annual financial disclosure report Form 460 covering the reporting period noted below or the day after the closing date of the last statement filed. (Gov. Code 84200 (deadline); 81005 (weekend deadline)).
- Reporting Period: January 1, 2026-June 30, 2026
Wednesday, August 5, 2026 - Tuesday, November 3, 2026 – Contribution/Independent Expenditures Statement Rules Begin to Apply
- Sums of $1,000 or more to/from a single source must be reported within 24-hours. The Independent Expenditure statement is required only for committees (not candidate controlled) that make independent expenditures totaling $1,000 or more to support or oppose a single ballot measure or a single candidate.
Friday, August 7, 2026 – Nomination Period Closes
- Deadline to file for office
Saturday, August 8, 2026 to Wednesday, August 12, 2026 – Nomination Extension Period
- If the incumbent fails to file a Declaration of Candidacy by deadline for their office, there will be a 5-calendar-day extension during which any candidate, other than the incumbent, may file for said office.
Thursday, September 24, 2026 – F.P.P.C 1st Pre Election Statement Due
- Deadline for financial disclosure report Form 460 covering the reporting period noted below or the day after the closing date of the last statement filed.
- Reporting Period: July 01, 2026-September 19, 2026
