The Open Space Authority is proud to join Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose's Día de los Muertos celebration. The event will feature sand painting with stencils, vibrant cultural storytelling, giant skeleton puppets, and a lively Calaveras procession led by Teatro Familia Aztlán, including a special stop at Lupe, the museum’s 14,000-year-old muerto mammoth.
Take a scenic guided hike through dramatic canyons and oak woodlands at Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve. Throughout this mindful 3.5-mile hike, participants will slow down, breathe deeply, take in the stunning views of San José and appreciate the simple gifts of nature.

Assist the Open Space Authority to plant native wildflowers and grasses at the staging area of Máyyan 'Ooyákma – Coyote Ridge Open Space Preserve. We will be continuing our work to restore native plants and reduce the spread of invasive species to ecologically sensitive areas of the preserve.
