Grant Projects

The innovative Living Loop Community Agricultural Education Program will set out to transform how community members understand and participate in sustainable agriculture and climate resilience. Through three interconnected program pillars, "Soil to Supper" field trips, Community Farm Workdays and the Climate-Friendly Farmer Series, this program will demonstrate the complete agricultural cycle while directly addressing climate change mitigation through hands-on learning experiences.

The SCA Urban Green: Conservation Stewardship and Education will recruit, hire and train high-school-age youth and young adults to serve under the umbrella of the Bay Area Climate Resilience Corps. The project will support equity priority communities and lands in Santa Clara County in building resilience to climate challenges while fostering an inclusive conservation workforce.

Sunday Friends' "Blooming in Nature" program will expand their current environmental education and experiential initiative to 375 adults and 150 youth from low-income, underserved, socioeconomically challenged neighborhoods in Santa Clara County. Project components will include: workshops centering on nature, conservation, recycling and reducing the use of single use plastics; two habitat restoration and river cleanup projects; and six trips to local open space preserves for participants.

Russo/McEntee Academy, a Title I elementary school in East San José, serves a highly vulnerable community disproportionately affected by poverty, disability and the climate crisis. Through field trips, students develop both scientific knowledge and agency as climate stewards.

In spring 2027, the Muwekma Ohlone Preservation Foundation will help lead the 29th Mexica New Year celebration at Emma Prusch Farm Park in San José. Over three days, more than one hundred Aztec dancers and dozens of California Native Nations will gather to honor renewal, land and community.
