Interested in learning more about birds? Join the Open Space Authority for a fun-filled morning of birdwatching! Participants will explore the habitat, spot and identify birds and learn interesting facts from on-site bird experts. All birder levels are welcome!
Step onto the trail after dark to explore the unique nighttime world of owls! Participants will learn how these remarkable hunters survive in low light, communicate with mates and care for their young. Knowledgeable Open Space Authority docents will lead a stroll through the park to help hear and, potentially, spot owls going about their nightly routine.

The Open Space Authority will present an update on the progress of our Agricultural Strategic Plan during a webinar hosted by the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce. The Authority's Agricultural Specialist, Anna Regalado, will share information about the goals of the plan and how input from the public and important stakeholders, including farmers, farmworkers and ranchers will influence the plan.

Assist the Open Space Authority to plant native wildflowers and grasses at the staging area of Máyyan 'Ooyákma – Coyote Ridge Open Space Preserve. We will be continuing our work to restore native plants and reduce the spread of invasive species to ecologically sensitive areas of the preserve.

Join our introductory training for new volunteers! Our Winter 2026 edition of Interpretive Host Training features two parts. The January 10 session will cover agency mission and vision, roles and duties and using interpretive techniques for public facing volunteer roles. The February 22 session will focus on Máyyan 'Ooyákma – Coyote Ridge Open Space Preserve, a springtime wildflower destination!
