Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve Equestrian Parking Updates
Spring 2026 Update:
Beginning March 1, 2026, Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve will launch a pilot reservation program for equestrian trailer parking. This pilot is being introduced during a period of increased spring visitation to help manage parking access for all visitors and help make dedicated, free trailer parking more reliably available for equestrians when they arrive.
Throughout the pilot, staff will track the reservation process and gather feedback. These insights will help guide future planning and identify long‑term equestrian parking needs as part of the Coyote Valley Conservation Areas Master Plan. To make a free reservation for horse trailer parking at Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve, please reach out to info@openspaceauthority.org or call (408) 224-7476.
Summer 2026 Construction Update:
Construction is expected to begin during the summer of 2026 to improve accessibility on the Heart’s Delight Trail and enhance related facilities at the preserve.
During this time, the equestrian parking lot will be closed. Riders arriving at the preserve on horseback are still welcome during regular hours.
Preserve alerts and updates will be posted on the Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve page as well as the Alerts & Closures webpage.
This work will include creating accessible use areas and connecting the parking lot, trailhead and interpretive spaces along the Heart’s Delight Trail.
Thank you!
We appreciate the community’s participation and input as we continue planning for the future of equestrian access in Coyote Valley.
