The Open Space Authority is proud to sponsor the Native Plant and Pollinator Day event at Martial Cottle County Park. Come learn about the importance of pollinators and how native plants help them. Hosted by Santa Clara County Parks.

As spring turns to summer, the soaproot plant prepares to bloom when evening comes. Join Open Space Authority docents on a late afternoon hike along the Mayfair Ranch and Longwall Canyon Trails to witness these flowers coming to life!

Join Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) and the Open Space Authority in welcoming master falconer and educator Antonio Balestreri to Laguna Seca in North Coyote Valley! Guests will get to meet several species of native raptors including an American kestrel, Peregrine falcon, great horned owl, and a ferruginous hawk.

With the onset of summer, join a beginner bird and plant identification walk to the native garden inside Lake Cunningham Regional Park. On this walk you will learn how to identify the common birds of this area as well as the native plants they depend on for food, shelter and nesting places.

Join the Open Space Authority to care for native plantings along a seasonal creek at Diablo Foothills Preserve, just east of Gilroy. We will be removing invasive plants and tall vegetation from around established riparian trees and shrubs. No experience required!

Join the Open Space Authority and the San Jose Astronomical Association (SJAA) for a star party at Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve! Docent astronomers will set up their telescopes to help you get the most knowledge and enjoyment out of the dark starry night sky.
