The Open Space Authority Board of Directors utilizes committees to enhance and inform its work. Committees provide organizational structure and an efficient method of sharing, reviewing, and receiving information.
While the purpose of each committee differs and the functions of each committee are primarily advisory, Open Space Authority committees:
A standing committee of the Board, the Administration and Budget Committee (ABC) serves year round. They meet on the second Thursday of the month in March, May, June, September, and November. Their primary purpose is to participate in the development, review and oversight of the Authority’s annual budget. The ABC also reviews and makes recommendations on Authority administrative policies.
A standing committee of the Board, the Land Use and Stewardship Committee serves year round. They meet once a quarter, prior to the Board’s regular meeting on the fourth Thursday of the month in February, April, July, and October. Their primary purpose is to be responsible for the review of the agency's land and natural resources protection, management, and policies, public access, visitor experiences, educational, and interpretive programs.
