Voter-Sponsored Initiative Measure to Adopt Parcel Tax for Open Space (Measure D)
On September 11, 2025, the proponents of the proposed “Santa Clara Valley Wildfire Protection, Clean Water, and Open Space Act” initiative filed with the Open Space Authority a notice of intention (“Notice”) to circulate an initiative to enact a parcel tax to provide funding to the Authority for the purposes stated in the Notice. At its February 26, 2026, meeting the Authority Governing Board officially placed the Initiative on the ballot for the June 2, 2026 ballot. The Authority has also prepared a Frequently Asked Questions or FAQ about the initiative. The Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters has posted the primary ballot arguments for and against Measure D on its website at the following link: https://vote.santaclaracounty.gov/list-local-measures-3 Rebuttal arguments will be available for review at this link after their submittal.
