For a lot of people, oak woodlands are just something you pass through on the way to Lake Tahoe or Half Moon Bay. But for me, they’re the destination."

Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority is accepting proposals for its 2025 Urban Grant Program, which funds local projects that connect people in urban communities to nature. Grants from $30,000 to $75,000 are available to nonprofits, schools and public agencies for projects such as environmental education, outdoor events, classes and programs.
