“Across Santa Clara Valley, open spaces thrive with plants and wildlife waiting to be discovered," said Mel Sarmento, educational program administrator of the Open Space Authority. “When children explore nature, their curiosity blooms, helping them grow into adults who care for these places. This activity book offers a playful path into that wonder, encouraging kids to learn about the creatures and natural spaces around them, from sweeping landscapes to smaller green corners close to home.”

Featuring local flowers, insects, trail etiquette instructions and space for neighborhood exploration, readers can expect to learn how open space benefits everybody in their everyday life. Additionally, nature lovers of all ages can learn more about local animals in the new downloadable guidebook Santa Clara Valley Wildlife at a Glance.
